Now lockdown restrictions have started to be eased, many of us are starting to venture outdoors and try to find some form of normality again, even for those who often find it difficult to get out and about as they often require straight stairlifts or other curved options as they find it hard to get around.

As more and more people head to local high streets and step foot back into airports, it can be hard to know the best ways to keep yourself and your loved ones safe, this guide will give you a little guidance as to the best ways to stay safe post-lockdown.

Wear a mask

Wearing a mask can not only prevent those around you from any germs, but it also stops you touching your face and can make you feel safer in larger crowds of people. It is now a rule that you should wear a mask on public transport, so keeping a mask or a pack of masks in your bag is a great idea in case you should find yourself in a busy environment.

Always carry sanitiser

It has been common courtesy to carry hand sanitiser for the last couple of months, so making sure you have extra supplies can put you at ease when you are out and about, avoid touching your face and make sure you are using sanitiser regularly to avoid carrying any germs on your hands.

Stay 2m apart

Although the guidelines now state you only have to stay 1m apart from other customers in some stores, trying to stay 2m away is a good idea where possible. Staying 2m apart allows you to be a comfortable distance away from other customers and the public.

Do your research

If you are planning to go out, it is always worth planning ahead, checking the rules and guidelines for the stores or locations you are planning to visit so you know what to expect when you are out. Keeping these in mind will avoid any confusion and crossing paths with other members of the public.

Now the restrictions have been lifted, heading outdoors and enjoying your local area again can be at the top of your list, and with the help of these simple tips, you can enjoy it knowing you are doing all you can to stay safe and keep others around you safe.
